Coalition

National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) led by the Democratic Party (DP) of Mwai Kibak included the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and the Forum for the Restoration of Democracy-Kenya (FORD-K. Nunley 2006).

Women's representation

Of 1 033 candidates nominated to stand for election 44 (4.26%) were women and of the 210 members elected 9 (4.29%) were women (Women's Shadow Parliament-Kenya 2006, 17, 18; see also "Table 3: Parliamentary Candidates by Gender per Political Party in the 2002 Elections" on page 18).
