Mozambique: 1994 Assembly of the Republic results

Updated April 2007

Polling was conducted from 27-29 October 2004

Only three of the 14 parties that contested the election won seats in the Assembly of the Republic. The remaining 11 parties won about 12.7% of the vote between them, but none achieved the constitutional threshold of 5% for representation.

Note: There is a discrepancy of 6 000 votes between the national figure published by STAE (1997) for Aliança Patriótica on page 33 (99 031) and the figure obtained for the coalition by adding up the provincial figures on page 36 (93 031). The error involved is too small to impact on seat allocation, the voter turnout rate or the spoiled ballots percentage.

Coalitions

Aliança Patriótica was a coalition which included Frent de Accão Patriótica (FAP).

The UDEMO coalition consisted of José Massinga's PANADE, PALMO headed by Martins Bilal and PANAMO led by Marcos Juma.
