Mozambique: 2009 Provincial Assemblies results

Each of the 10 provinces of Mozambique has an elected Provincial Assembly (Law no 10/2007). Proportional representation is used to allocate seats in the Provincial Assemblies, with each district in a province acting as an electoral constituency and each constituency returning a number of members in proportion to its share of the population of the province concerned.

The first election was provincial Assemblies was held on 28 October 2009. The results were confirmed by the Constitutional Council on 27 December 2009.
