The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) is established by the Constitution and is mandated with manageing elections at all levels of government.

The Electoral Court is a specialist court bearing the highest authority on matters relating to elections, has the same status as the Supreme Court and is subordinate only to the Constitutional Court.

The Municipal Demarcation Board (MDB) determines municipal boundaries and delimits wards for local elections.
